Eating is enjoyable and we want to keep it that way, which is not an easy thing to do considering the reputation that “hospital food” has. Our Food Services Department works diligently to prepare food that is both delicious and nutritious—and even caters events for our residents and clients.
With the help of our Clinical Nutrition team and Canada’s Food Guide, we have not only developed a six-week cycle menu that fulfills general nutritional guidelines for seniors, we also develop personal eating plans with clients and patients who suffer from food allergies or other sensitivities.
Of course, one of the most enjoyable things about meal time is sharing with family and friends. Our cafeteria doors are always open to outside guests, so swing by to spend some time with our residents, clients and staff.

The Food Service Department also provides catering services to various committees and groups, along with family celebrations such as birthdays and anniversaries at a minimal cost.
Our Canteen Cart makes rounds throughout the building, making sure that every resident is included in our offering of special (and healthy) snacks and treats. The canteen cart makes rounds:

This is one of our favorite places to socialize. We serve ice cream, milkshakes, beer, spirits, wine, coffee and hot chocolate in the Homesteader Room:
