Healing Garden

As John Muir once said, “Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.” We believe it wholeheartedly, and so we built a park, complete with walking (or wheeling) paths, rose gardens, water fountains and a gazebo. Since its opening in 2012, it’s become a favorite place for staff, residents and clients to relax and socialize.

“Many residents aren’t able to travel to the other parks,” Rose Mary Hartney, Chair of the Providence Place Foundation, told Discover Moose Jaw. “This allows them to enjoy the outdoors, fresh air, to get their hands in the garden, plant flowers and still be close enough to the building should they need to go home.”

Our Healing Garden is a wonderful place for Providence Place’s residents to get away, enjoy the outdoors and experience the benefits of nature on mind, body and spirit.

Of course, we couldn’t do it without the support of our community and donors, who pulled together almost $500,000 to make our healing garden dream a reality.

Thank you to those who made our healing garden happen!
